We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our team Hybrid based in Ottawa, ON, Canada.
Job Description:
- Adhere to the client’s Project Management Processes and the stage gate process.
- Identify requirements to achieve Project objectives & deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project management information in the Project Management Information System (PMIS), including all project artefacts.
- Responsible for managing all aspects of projects throughout the project lifecycles – Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control and Closure.
- Maintain a risk register by identifying, recording, and regularly updating potential risks to the project.
- Obtain translations for project documents as required.
- Report on project performance to Cyber Renewal Management.
- Develop and deliver presentation materials for Cyber Renewal Management and governance committee requirements.
- Support the enhancement of Security Risk Management implementation, including the enhancements to Security risk management practices and processes.
- Support Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) enhancements to identify and resolve risks earlier.
- Support the early identification of risks in the SA&A process to help support the reduction of technical debt.
- Develop a Project implementation plan & schedule.
- Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring that tasks are assigned appropriately, and deadlines are met.
- Facilitate project-related meetings, including team meetings, stakeholder discussions, and progress reviews.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards.
- Regularly assess and report on the project’s progress, financial status, and resource allocation.
- Create and maintain project dashboards to ensure stakeholders have access to project data and information.
- Maintain an issue log by tracking and documenting all issues that arise during the project so that the issues are recorded and addressed in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- 10 plus years of recent Project Manager experience.
- Must have previous Security Risk Management experience.
- Must have completed at least 5 projects with a minimum duration of 6 consecutive months.
- Must currently hold a Secret Government Security Clearance (Canadian).
- Must currently reside in the Client – National Capital Region (Ottawa) and have ability to work Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
- Must have a university degree or college/CEGEP Diploma related to computer science, information technology, or engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Huge asset to have previous Government/Public Sector work experience.
Required Skills:
- Experience managing several Project Managers, each responsible for an element of the project and its associated project team.
- Experience managing the project during the development, implementation, and operations start up.
- Experience in ensuring project is developed and is fully operational within previously agreed time, cost, and performance parameters.
- Experience conducting Scrums, Sprint planning and sprint backlog refinement.
- Experience formulating statements of problems, establishing procedures for the development and implementation of project elements.
- Experience defining & documenting the objectives for the project, determine budgetary requirements, the composition, roles, responsibilities and terms of reference for the project team.
- Experience reporting progress of the project on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle.
- Experience meeting with Stakeholders and other Project Managers and states problems in a form capable of being solved.
- Experience preparing plans, charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems.
- Experience working with a variety of Project management tools; and Project sign-off.
